Frame Technology

THE FRAME

The Arctec R and Elite are Apollo’s lightest and stiffest frames ever, featuring a truly asymmetric design. In essence this frame has been designed in two halves. An oversize bottom bracket, offset seat tube and chain stays both of different diameters ensure maximum power is transferred to the rear wheel.

To balance this rigidity we employed super slim seat stays which deliberately provide an element of vertical flex to the frame. This not only delivers a comfortable ride but ensures that the rear wheel stays glued to the ground during sprinting or high speed cornering when pushing to the absolute limit.

CARBON CONSTRUCTION

Different types of carbon offer different characteristics. Some of the lightest, most expensive carbons aren’t actually the best for adding strength to a frame. Our frames blend ultralight UD carbon with 12k weave in high stress areas to optimise the frame’s strength.

These stress areas are further reinforced by step down technology - a process that ensures the carbon is perfectly positioned to create a highly refined frame quality. The result is a frame with excellent strength to weight ratio.
